"Still Kickin' band will always have as their roots, the rock and roll of the 50s and 60s but let it not be said, around this group of old dogs, that they can't learn new tricks."

They love the music!

  The  Band 's Story

The Still Kickin' Band is strictly a 50s and 60s rock and roll band, comprised of six guys with an average age of over 60 years young.  Over 40 years ago, the members of this group all played in Orlando in the same or competing rock and roll groups and would accurately be described as part of Orlando, FL rock and roll historical foundation.  They were all reunited in a 40-year Rock and Roll Reunion in April of 2002, but only to participate in the reunion and at that time, none of them envisioned returning to the stage together.

After the reunion reminded them of old friendships and playing the music of their era, this group of former rockers started discussing the prospects of returning to the stage.  Some had played throughout the years while others hadn't played or been on stage in 20 years. They took that unlikely step and have found that a significant group of people around Florida really wanted to hear the "live music" of the past and are now booking this Band for conventions, reunions, and special events.

The Still Kickin' Band is slowly reentering the music scene in Orlando, after recently been recognized by the Sentinel's Entertainment Section in late March 2003.  However, look for the Still Kickin' Band to start reorganizing their 50s and 60s rock and roll sound for your entertainment options and dancing pleasure at the end of 2003 and early 2004.  At the request of many of their new and older followers, they have been asked to look at country music and the rock and roll of the 70s, 80s, and a variety of different sounds.

This is a request that an almost entirely retired group of old rockers have decided would indeed be an interesting challenge.  It certainly addresses the Band's intense and mounting desire to return to the stage on a more regular basis and certainly responds to the more recent offers to play outside of just the Orlando area.  If the Band can consider offers to play south to Boca Raton and north to Atlanta, GA, then why not pursue other sounds and differing dancing audiences of all ages.

Still Kickin' Band will always have as their roots, the rock and roll of the 50s and 60s but let it not be said, around this group of old dogs, that they can't learn new tricks.  One night they played a special request of Rod Stewart's "Forever Young" and received a standing ovation.  Look for this Band to do the unexpected, with the same energy that they exhibited in returning to the stage, and in less than a year's time, became one of the most popular 50s and 60s rock and roll groups in Central FL.
